★★★★☆
Initially, I wasn't too keen on the cola-shaped design of the WAATR CrazyCap Pro as it resembled other water bottles I owned. However, my perspective changed when I discovered its versatility, allowing me to use the cap on other popular cola-shaped bottles like S'well, Chilly's, and Simple Modern. The bottle's sleek and compact design, along with its ability to fit in most cup holders, was a significant improvement over my previous YETI 28 oz bottle. If you're unsure about the size, I highly recommend going for the larger 28 oz option to avoid frequent refills.

To activate the self-cleaning feature on the CrazyCap, simply hold your finger on the touch sensor for three seconds until the indicator light blinks green. Once activated, it automatically cleans the bottle every hour for 15 seconds. However, you can also choose to deactivate the self-cleaning and opt for the normal purification mode by tapping the sensor twice. The cap offers additional features such as a "Pro Mode Purification" for three minutes of ultra-pure water, a "Drink Reminder" with green blinking every 30 minutes, and a smart safety sensor to prevent accidental eye exposure when the cap is removed.

Charging the CrazyCap Pro was surprisingly easy, requiring only a USB charger and placing it on top of the cap. The indicator light pulsed in orange during charging and turned steady green when fully charged, which took a little over 3 hours. Checking the battery life was a simple tap on the touch sensor, with green indicating 40% to 100% charge, orange indicating 11% to 39%, and red indicating 1% to 10%. It's worth noting that frequent use of the self-cleaning feature will require more frequent charging, typically every 2-3 days, due to higher battery consumption.

WAATR CrazyCap Pro Review
Having won multiple awards and garnered endorsements from various celebrities, I was eager to try out the CrazyCap Pro by WAATR and determine if it lived up to the hype. In this review, we'll take a closer look at its features, benefits, and potential drawbacks to help you determine if it's the right solution for your hydration needs.
The following is a review of the 25 oz. CrazyCap Pro in the color Sunshine.
First Impressions
Upon receiving my CrazyCap Pro, I was impressed by the sleek, branded packaging. The box itself displayed a vivid illustration depicting the UV-C light's functioning, while the opposite side provided a concise explanation of the underlying science. The process was surprisingly straightforward: as viruses and bacteria encounter the UV-C light, the proteins present on the cell walls rupture, causing the death of the microorganisms.
Design & Versatility
I must admit, initially I wasn't particularly fond of the cola-shaped design since it looked like just about every other travel water bottle I own. However, my opinion quickly changed when I discovered the versatility of the WAATR CrazyCap Pro and how I could repurpose the cap on other similar cola-shaped water bottles such as S’well, Chilly’s, and Simple Modern.
I also appreciate how the bottle is simple and sleek without being too bulky or heavy to carry around. It easily fits into virtually any cup holder, which is a significant improvement considering the challenges I faced with my YETI 28 oz bottle not fitting in my car's cup holder. If you're undecided between the 17 oz and 25 oz sizes, I highly recommend opting for the larger 25 oz size. By choosing the bigger option, you can avoid the inconvenience of frequently refilling your water bottle.
Self-Cleaning Feature
By default, the self-cleaning feature is disabled to preserve battery life during shipment. To activate it, I only needed to press and hold my finger on the touch sensor for three seconds until the indicator light blinked green, indicating that it was turned on. Once enabled, the CrazyCap automatically activated every hour for 15 seconds, effectively maintaining the cleanliness of the bottle.
However, since I had a long day of travel ahead and wasn't certain if I would have the opportunity to charge the cap, I decided to deactivate the self-cleaning feature temporarily. Instead, I opted to activate the normal purification mode when filling up at the water fountain at the airport. To do this, I simply tapped the touch sensor twice, and a blue light started pulsating for 30 seconds. Once the process was complete, the indicator light flashed green.
In addition to the self-cleaning and purification modes, there are three other noteworthy features:
The "Pro Mode Purification" setting can be activated by touching the sensor three times. This mode utilizes the UV-C LED light for three minutes, ensuring ultra-pure water. This setting is ideal for water from questionable sources like rivers and streams.
The "Drink Reminder" feature activates when the sensor is touched five times. When enabled, the cap blinks green three times every 30 minutes, serving as a gentle reminder to stay hydrated for up to two hours.
Lastly, the cap is equipped with a smart safety sensor that deactivates the UV-C LED once the cap is removed from the bottle to protect against accidental eye exposure.
Cap Charging
I was pleasantly surprised by how effortless the charging process was. All it took was plugging in the USB charger and positioning it on top of the cap. As it charged, the indicator light gently pulsed in orange, and once fully charged, it switched to a steady green light. It took slightly over 3 hours to reach a full charge.
Checking the battery life is also a breeze. With a simple tap on the touch sensor, the cap illuminates a specific color to indicate the remaining charge. A green light signifies a charge level between 40% and 100%, orange indicates a range of 11% to 39%, and red indicates a charge level of 1% to 10%.
It's important to note that leaving the self-cleaning feature active will result in more frequent charging, typically every 2-3 days, as it consumes the battery more quickly.
Value for Money
The CrazyCap Pro offers two size options, starting at $99 for the 17 oz and $119 for the larger 25 oz size. While the price may initially seem steep, the easy-to-use self-cleaning features justify the investment. With the extra convenience and peace of mind of having purified water, the CrazyCap Pro becomes a solid pick for folks who really care about keeping things clean and sustainable when it comes to their hydration game.
