This bag is packed with an array of anti-theft features, including cut-resistant EXomesh® slashguard, puncture-resistant ToughZip, and a Roobar Deluxe locking system. What sets it apart is the clever integration of these features, ensuring security without drawing attention itself.

This bag impresses with its thoughtful anti-theft features and a convenient full opening secured by internal compression straps. The practical water bottle pocket was useful during travels, but the front pocket's design caused minor inconveniences with items getting lost at the bottom. While the internal camouflage print felt a bit too masculine, the solid black exterior matched my style, offering a clean and sleek appearance.

Venturesafe® EXP45 Anti-Theft Carry-On Travel Pack Review

As a traveler, I usually stick to my trusty carry-on roller bag along with my travel backpack. Nevertheless, I found myself thrilled at the prospect of trying something new and decided to embrace the change by giving a duffel backpack a shot.

The following is a review of Pacsafe’s Venturesafe® EXP45 Anti-Theft Carry-On Travel Pack in the color black.

First Impressions

Upon receiving my duffel backpack from Pacsafe, I found it neatly packed, accompanied by a small brochure and detailed tags explaining the intricacies of its anti-theft technology. Frankly, I was grateful for the information, given that this bag is equipped with an array of anti-theft gadgets and protection. Unlocking the zippers from Roobar Deluxe locking system even took me a few minutes to figure out! However, once I was able to unzip the bag, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous space in the main compartment and couldn't wait to pack it to the brim with my belongings for an upcoming trip to Hilton Head.

Quality of Materials

One of the standout aspects of Pacsafe, apart from its thoughtful anti-theft features, is its unwavering commitment to high-quality materials. And this bag was no exception. Crafted from recycled polyester that’s also water resistant, the duffel backpack is specifically designed to endure the rigors of regular travel. The ergonomic internal frame was a pleasant surprise, providing enhanced balance and support. Despite a full day of navigating the airport with the duffel backpack securely on my back, I was pleased to find that my shoulders weren't sore. The external compression straps also played a vital role in stabilizing the bag, making it effortlessly comfortable to carry.

Anti-Theft Features

Loaded with an array of anti-theft features, here are a few of my favorites in this bag:

  • EXomesh® slashguard: Cut-resistant materials that protect your belongings

  • Puncture-resistant ToughZip: Double zipper that helps prevent luggage tampering

  • Roobar Deluxe locking system: Lockdown point for zippers, cables, and buckles (and what I struggled to open at first!)

  • Stainless steel locking cable: This allows you to secure your bag to any fixture like a table or chair.

What I find most appealing is that this bag doesn't draw attention as a tourist's bag. The anti-theft features are cleverly integrated, ensuring the security of your belongings without being overtly conspicuous.

Overall Design

In addition to the well-thought-out anti-theft features, the aspect of this bag that I adore the most is its full opening, cleverly secured with internal compression straps to minimize bulk and ensure the gear stays in place. The travel water bottle pocket was particularly useful, and I made good use of it during my travels. However, I did encounter a slight inconvenience with the front pocket, as it extended down the length of the backpack without fully opening up, causing items to get lost at the bottom. Moreover, the internal grey and white camoflauge print felt a bit too masculine for my taste and not quite my overall style. Nevertheless, the solid black exterior color suited me perfectly, presenting a clean and sleek look that I loved.

Value for Money

Priced at $278, it's undoubtedly an investment, but when considering the high-quality materials, extensive range of anti-theft features, and the thoughtful ergonomic design, I firmly believe it justifies its price tag and proves to be incredibly worth every penny. The peace of mind and convenience it provides during my travels make it a valuable companion, ensuring my belongings are safe and secure throughout my journeys.

The Bottom Line

Throughout my travels with this duffel backpack, I was genuinely taken aback by how much I fell in love with it. If you're searching for a sporty-looking carry-on duffel backpack, I wholeheartedly recommend this one from Pacsafe. In short, don't underestimate the power of duffel backpacks, especially this feature-packed anti-theft gem, which ensures a safe and secure journey.
